Sound Course at Bradford City of Film

The deadline for applications for this course has now passed.

Bradford City of Film is looking for first time and aspiring filmmakers who are keen to learn more about the film industry and to advance their potential careers. If you’re aged 16 – 25 and are based in that region why not find out more about the free training on offer?

The course will include an introduction to sound recording equipment, the basic principles of sound recording for film, including location shooting and the recording of sound for the big screen in a professional cinema.

Providing participants with:

  • A detailed overview of the importance of sound in film
  • Knowledge of how to achieve best results with a range of equipment
  • Advice on achieving good results on-location
  • Technical advice and tuition

The course runs from Monday 14 – Wednesday 16 January at the University of Bradford and the National Media Museum.

Aimed at first time and aspiring filmmakers, the organisers particularly welcome applications from young women, non-traditional learners and young people who have not had any formal training before in this area.
