First Light aims to nurture talent and provide opportunities for young people interested in filmmaking and creative media production.

Celebrating its 10th birthday this year, First Light seeks to grow and expand the opportunities available to the young people that we work with, To date, we have embarked upon partnerships with a range of high profile organisations such as BAFTA, Channel 4, Pinewood, The Grierson Trust, Sky and Total Film. We have also recruited a number of industry ambassadors who believe passionately in First Light’s work and provide inspirational guidance to First Light projects.

First Light managers a range of projects that develop talent and that:

• Utilise industry engagement to provide ‘real’ experiences and pathways to employment
• Equip people with 21st century skills
• Develop the film audience of the future
• Help the industry be more representative
