YouTube Digital Innovation Award
18 January 2012
18-25? Win £1,000 and an invite to the mini-Oscars®!
First Light works with young people from all over the UK to develop filmmaking skills. Each year the organisation holds an awards event to celebrate the creative talents of the young people that have been involved in their projects. The ceremony is a high profile event which has previously had support from film industry luminaries and celebrities such as Orlando Bloom, Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet, Stephen Fry and Daniel Craig.
This year, First Light has teamed up with YouTube to give young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to win £1,000 towards future filmmaking projects.
Submissions
We are asking for submissions of short films, 3 minutes or under, that could be described as ‘digitally innovative’. Have you made a film that uses particularly innovative special effects? Did you have to be innovative to get certain shots or did you film in an unusual style?
If you are aged 18-25 and think that your film is digitally innovative, then send it on in for a chance to win £1,000 cash!
Your film will be judged by Peter Barron, Director of External Relations for Google and former Newsnight editor, and the 3 shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to attend the First Light Awards where the winner will be announced.
For examples of films that we consider to be digitally innovative, check out our YouTube channel.
