First Light was launched in May 2001 and since then has funded over 900 filmmaking projects with more than 20,000 young people throughout the UK.
We’ve funded the follollowing projects in the latest funding round:

104 films are a UK-based feature film production company and strategic partners to the UK Film Council who run The Magic Hour short film scheme for disabled filmmakers.
Glasgow Media Access Center (GMAC)
Scotland

GMAC (Glasgow Media Access Centre) gives excluded and minority groups interested in moving image and film making practical opportunities to develop their skills and talents in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Wind & Foster Media
West Sussex

Wind & Foster Media provide a broadcast production facility specialising in promotional film, drama and participatory arts workshops with a focus on participatory arts and creative learning opportunities for young people.
Sutton Parish Council

Sutton Parish Council is committed to Youth and Community work and regularly carry out youth projects and community work engaging with all diverse elements of the wider community. Sutton Song and Dance Group (SADS) is where young people aged 9 to 19 perform a teenage themed youth-led devised piece of work to members of the community, including elderly groups, primary groups and relatives.
The Learning Centre
North Lanarkshire, Scotland

The Learning Centre is North Lanarkshire Council’s specialist multimedia production house focussed upon developing new multimedia resources for the Learning and Leisure Service. The LensHeads film School has been running for 5 years and is open to all 14 to 18 year olds living in North Lanarkshire.

CME is a Norwich based charity promoting opportunity, personal development and running media and film projects with vulnerable groups; special needs groups, those with learning difficulties, mental health groups, the homeless, after school groups, and young people at risk of exclusion/offending through the process of music and media-making.
Sawston Village College

A project aimed at re-establishing cinema in Sawston and open to all young people in the local community. This project currently consists of young people aged 11 – 16 who attend on a voluntary basis and meet weekly after school.
Manchester Youth Volunteering Project
