National Youth Film Festival Opens Across the UK
21 October 2013
The National Youth Film Festival opened on 21 October, offering young people the chance to enjoy a range of films, get creative and engage with the film industry. Alongside premieres of new films, there’s a packed programme of screenings, Q&A’s, seminars and workshops with top film industry professionals. The Festival aims to inspire students to understand, watch and create film in new and innovative ways.
Launching in its first year the National Youth Film Festival is a nationwide celebration of film and spans the breadth of the UK, with over 400 cinemas taking part (including Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales). As well as the main towns and cities it also travels to remote regions including the Isle of Skye and Truro.
Running until 8 November, there are over 130 films in the programme and the Festival is aimed at schools, colleges and youth groups; all tickets are free and can be booked at www.nationalyouthfilmfestival.org
