FIRST FRIGHT: Our Half-Term Halloween Horror Workshop!

This October half-term, First Light ran a horror-filled 3-day workshop for 11-14 year olds to make their very own horror film!

The workshop at the mac, Birmingham, was a great opportunity for the young people to learn all about the horror genre and use state-of-the-art equipment to make a horror film with the help of professional filmmakers.

The group of 12 produced 2 great horror films which were screened at the mac cinema.

What they thought:

“An enjoyable 3 days. Well organised and fun with an excellent goody bag at the end which was totally unexpected.”

Claire Coghlan, Parent.

“If other young people are thinking about doing one of the first Light workshops I would say to them that they should definitely go because it is exciting, fun and enjoyable”

George S, young participant.

“The things I enjoyed most were working with the cameras and sound equipment and being the director and being able to boss people around on set”

Joseph, young participant.

“The things I enjoyed most were learning all the new shots, working within a group and listening to other peoples ideas. I learnt quite a lot from that”

George O, young participant.
