Film Nation
18 June 2010
First Light is delighted to be a part of Film Nation: Shorts – a nationwide competition that will engage young people in all the various creative and practical elements of filmmaking, with great prizes at the end of it, not least the chance to have their film shown at the London 2012 games, to a worldwide audience of millions.
Screen WM is leading the delivery of this £2m national project supported by partners First Light and 104 Films with Panasonic as the confirmed commercial partners. The project, is being managed by LOCOG and will run for the next two years leading up to the London 2012 games.
A whole host of workshops are taking place across the country and submissions for the next round should be uploaded to the Film Nation:Shorts website by October 1. The films, which are to be no longer than 3 minutes, must celebrate the “values of the Olympic and Paralympics Games; respect, courage, excellence, friendship, equality, determination and inspiration.”
Keep checking the First Light website for further information.
