Don't Go Down Through the Woods wins a Shortie

Young pupils at Royd Nursery and Infant School in Sheffield are celebrating their achievements as they have won a prestigious Shortie Award.

The Shortie Awards is an international Film and News Festival held in Washington DC in the United States and is judged by a panel of industry professionals and experts including internationally renowned producers and directors.

The young pupils at Royd made a short film entitled Don’t Go Down Through the Woods with the help of funding from First Light. The film was shortlisted for a First Light Award back in March and has now won the international category in the Shorties.

The Shortie Awards takes place during May and attract hundreds of short films are entered from all over the world. The Awards focuses on nurturing imagination and choice-making in students, and is one of the only competitions in the world providing expert analysis and critique to each entrant, in addition to prizes.
