Beacon Hill Arts is a national BFI Film Academy Network Partner!

The British Film Institute’s Film Academy Network is a very prestigious national scheme, which supports 16-19 year olds to develop professional filmmaking skills and talents.

Beacon Hill Arts, based in North East England is the only Film Academy in the country providing opportunities to young people with learning disabilities or additional needs.

In February and March 2013 they will be running an exciting programme of eight filmmaking workshops at in Wallsend and in Durham. Young people will be taken through every stage of the creation of their own film from script to screen.

Applications Now Open

Accepting applications NOW from 16-19 year olds of ALL abilities from ACROSS the North East No experience is necessary, all you need is a love of film and lots of enthusiasm!

Work made by Beacon Hill Arts young filmmakers has shown all over the UK and the USA, featured on primetime TV and screened at the most prestigious film festivals and venues in the country. Film critic Mark Kermode described their latest work as “well made” and “very funny”!
