Are you aged 14-25?

Do you want to rub shoulders with the stars and mingle with the next generation of UK filmmaking talent?

Well you can do, at this year’s First Light Awards!

We are asking our young members of The Light Lounge to design a flyer advertising this free members club, and in return, the two best entries received will win a pair of tickets to the First Light Awards on 5th March.

The 2012 Awards are being held at the BFI in London, the venue for glam Premieres such as The Iron Lady and Never Let Me Go. In previous years, celebrities such as Nick Frost, Noel Clarke, Kevin Spacey and Sam Mendes have attended and presented awards to the winning young filmmakers.

The Brief

We are asking 15-25 year olds to design a flyer for The Light Lounge, First Light’s free club for young people interested in the creative media industries.

The flyer must be A5, 1 sided, and you may wish to include details about what The Light Lounge is and how to register, the details of which can be found here.

Feel free to use images, as we would like the flyer to be as bold and creative as possible, but do make sure that you either own the images or have permission to use them.

The design must be A5 (148mm x 210mm) and can be created in Word, Publisher or Photoshop and must be emailed to info@firstlightonline.co.uk before Monday 20th February with ‘The Light Lounge Design’ in the header.

You will also need to download, complete and sign the form on the right hand side, and either scan and email it to the email address above or send it in to the following address:

If you are under 18, you must ask a parent/legal guardian’s permission to apply and get them to sign the form before you send it to us.

The Prize

The two best entries received will each win a pair of tickets* to the First Light Awards on the afternoon of the 5th March. Their designs will also be printed and circulated at the Awards, and be used to advertise The Light Lounge to other young people.

*Please note that you will need to provide your own transport/accommodation and will need parental permission to attend if under the age of 18.
