Above: Celebs at the First Light Awards 2011 give First Light their top tips for making it in the industry!

The Orange British Academy Film Awards rewards the best work of any nationality seen on British cinema screens during the preceding year. The awards in 2011 took place on Sunday 13 February at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden.

First Light caught up with some of the nominees from the Short Film and Short Animation categories at the BFI Future Film Festival. You can see their top tips above and you can watch the winners’ interviews here.
