The Sunday Times filmmaking competition

We think Sundays should be perfect. Don’t you?

As part of their Perfect Sunday initiative, The Sunday Times Culture (Print and Online) teamed up with First Light to invite young filmmakers to show us what constitutes a perfect Sunday.

First Light in association with The Sunday Times Culture were looking for submissions of short films that look at what makes a Sunday the best day of the week. As Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter) put it, “It could be lying in bed, making toast, hanging out with the family, walking the dog, talking to aliens, digging a hole to Australia”. The only conditions were that the entrants were between were aged between 14 – 24 and the films were a maximum running time of 2 minutes.

The talented filmmakers were invited to attend the star-studded First Light Awards 2011 taking place at The Odeon, Leicester Square, on 15th March 2011, where the lucky winner was announced and presented with their prestigious award.
