First Light and v are committed to strengthening the role of young people in society. The 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games provides a fantastic opportunity to harness young people’s skills and talents inspiring them to make a positive difference in their communities.

Through v funding, First Light has provided young people interested in culture, with opportunities to play their part in creating a positive legacy.

Volunteers aged 17-25 from Manchester, Exeter, London and Birmingham, have been documenting the exciting and innovative volunteering projects inspired by the 2012 Games in their local area.

Four short documentaries made it through to the First Light Awards 2011 and the public voted in their masses for the winning film. The winning group was annouced at the Awards on Tuesday 15th March!
