Career to date:
Lizzie manages the Young Film Fund programme at First Light. She has expertise in project management and youth leadership programmes of activity.
Lizzie began her journey with First Light as a Media Grants Assistant and was part of a new team who launched the successful Mediabox funding programme. Mediabox funding enabled thousands of young people across England to gain industry standard media production skills and produce media projects using a range of media including film/TV, radio, photography and digital/print media.
Lizzie manages the Young Champions programme which has enabled 8 young people to gain training and accreditation, become ambassadors for Mediabox project activity and to gain youth leadership skills as key decision makers on the funding panels.
Before working at First Light Lizzie worked for various organisations including, the then – Royal National Institute for the Blind. Lizzie also gained a degree in Media Production at Staffordshire University which inspired her to continue to put her creative talents to good use in her work with young people. Lizzie is passionate about supporting young people, encouraging positive change and youth empowerment using media activity as a dynamic tool of engagement.
