Film Nation Shorts: Project Manager
Jo is responsible for the Film Nation: Shorts project at First Light and is tasked with organizing filmmaking workshops across the nation for 14-19 year-olds, helping young people to create films that are inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic games, that are then entered into an online competition. Jo started her career in Marketing in London and moved to Birmingham in 2000 when she joined the Art and Design department at BBC, Pebble Mill, she quickly moved into project management and moved with the 3D Animation and CG FX Studio, The CharacterShop as Production Manager when it became independent in 2002. She has since run a Business Support Scheme for the Creative Industries, worked with First Light on the My Mediabox project and also runs a Citizenship Award Scheme for 11-14 year olds in Birmingham.
