Communications Assistant

Jess works in Communications with Angela. She started at First Light in order to help organise the First Light Awards 2011 – and had a lot of fun doing so!

Jess graduated from the University of Southampton in 2008 with a degree in Philosophy and has since had various jobs including Marketing and Events Co-ordinator for a local organisation Speak Clearly and working in fundraising for the NSPCC.

Jess has a love for travelling and meeting new people, having hitchhiked to Morocco for charity, and climbed the Inca Trail in Peru to see the magnificent Machu Picchu. She is always planning her next trip away!

What’s your favourite film?

Such a hard question! The Life of David Gale and Amélie spring to mind (I know, 2 is cheating!)

What’s your favourite First Light film?

Again, I couldn’t choose between Street of Cafés and Until My Heart’s, Like Finished!

Who would play you in a film of your life?

With longer hair, I was forever getting told I looked like Renee Zellweger, (my response was always ‘not the fat version?!’) so she seems to be a good option!

What is your favourite film quote?

“Tigers love pepper… they hate cinnamon” The Hangover

Who would you invite to a dream dinner party?

Nietzsche for a good debate and The Flight of the Conchords for the comedy value!
