Barbara Broccoli has been part of the James Bond world all of her life. The daughter of Albert R. ‘Cubby’ Broccoli, the legendary Producer who turned 007 into the longest-running series in movie history, Barbara began working on the Bond films at the age of 17 in the Publicity department of THE SPY WHO LOVED ME.
Barbara went on to take the roles of Assistant Director on OCTOPUSSY and Assistant Producer on THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. In 1995, Barbara shepherded the 007 franchise in to a new era as Producer with Michael G. Wilson on GOLDENEYE, which became the highest grossing title in Bond’s history at the time.Barbara has produced every Bond movie since, breaking box office records and ushering the series her father started into a new century. In 2007, Barbara shared a BAFTA nomination for Best British Film for CASINO ROYALE.
Barbara also produced the 1996 TV movie Crime of the Century for HBO which was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards. Together with Michael Wilson she has produced a number of stage productions including “La Cava” (2000), “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” (2002 London, 2005 Broadway), and “A Steady Rain” (2009). They are currently bringing the critically acclaimed film “Once” to the stage in New York.
Barbara was awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in Her Majesty the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2008.
